Overview
Responsible for overseeing the world-wide financial close process. Plan global monthly, quarterly and annual close process for the entire Value Center. Manage the consolidation process including reviewing Segment financial reporting prior to submission to Corporate Headquarters. Perform technical accounting research and provide topical guidance to our business partners based on the results of that research. Responsible for the collection, consolidation and review of data required for SEC quarterly and annual reporting. Responsible for preparation and distribution of monthly global internal reporting packages. Review closing journal entries and accruals. Establish processes to further standardize financial reporting requirements. Maintain SOX compliance at all times. Monitor global VC SOX and balance sheet review process and resulting issues. Act as a liaison between the VC and the internal and external audit groups. Identify, document, and implement process improvements. Act as a liaison between the VC and the OneStream (OS) team on any monthly validation issues and proposed journal entries. Maintain seamless communication with the business analysis side of the finance group and unit controllers. This is a requirement for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Lead the ongoing monitoring efforts for Percentage of Completion accounting for long-term contracts at applicable IP units
Perform technical accounting research and provide topical guidance to our business partners based on the results of that research
Support the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process globally. Maintaining adequate internal controls over related systems and processes.
Monitor global compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and balance sheet reviews. (Key result: Ensuring we are managing the business in an ethical and compliant manner).
Preparation of the monthly internal reporting packages. Includes monthly preparation of the monthly book, SAG, some monthly departmental reports and on time performance reporting.
Active participant, as a member of the IP team, in business decisions, strategic decisions, contingency and financial planning. This includes providing a critical assessment of the inputs to the process. (Key result: Profitable and growing business).
Provide value added business analysis of the IP businesses to provide high impact guidance to the business of high return initiatives and strategies.
Perform as needed analysis of the business to support strategies on how to drive growth and profitability. (Key result: Profitable and growing business)
Provide analysis and support to drive achievement for GDP metrics. Critical focus on velocity and “Lean” principles. (Key result: Meeting or exceeding annual budget OI and OCF targets).
Qualifications
Education: Requires Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience: minimum of 7 years of financial accounting experience.
Skills/Knowledges:
Very strong preference for CPA
7+ years of relevant accounting and financial experience preferably public accounting (Big 4 or Tier 2 firms preferred) and private mix. Straight out of public will be considered only with large manufacturing clients.
Experience with Percentage of Completion accounting for long-term contracts.
Robust knowledge of technical accounting, including providing topical business guidance based on the results of that research.
Strong understanding of computer systems to include Excel and OneStream (OS). Stronger consideration for those that already know OS.
Experience with SOX Compliance, Internal Controls, and Operations Planning and Forecasting.
