The Elevator Operator is responsible for all facets of the elevator operations. The duties include, but are not limited to weighing trucks, receiving trucks, filling bins in correct bin, loading mill feed, transferring the product to mill, and sanitation duties. This individual will work 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

ELEVATOR OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and weigh trucks. Grade and create grain receipts.
  • Responsible for grain blending and transferring the product to mill.
  • Maintain elevator condition and adhere to master sanitation schedule and outside grounds.
  • Operate outside mobile equipment.
  • Fill out the appropriate paperwork needed for the task.
  • Assist with loadout operations.
  • Ensure efficient traffic flow onsite.
  • Bin product correctly.
  • Ability to operate yard truck and hook up to feed trailers.
  • Load mill feed onto trailers.
  • Transfer product to mill.
  • Efficient in operating the scale.
  • Clean products using grain cleaning equipment.
  • Operate skid steer/forklift.
  • Fill out the appropriate paperwork needed for the task.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties on elevator equipment
  • Responsible for rail moves and daily switching in coordination with local short line.

ELEVATOR OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Be mechanically inclined
  • Be able to perform basic troubleshooting on elevator equipment
  • Experience in grain handling and computer skills would be considered an asset.
  • Safety training is required and provided by the company in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write in English.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Available to work flexible hours; evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 ft.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The job will require frequent outside work.
  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
  • Must be willing to work in confined spaces with limited head space.
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
  • Extreme climate or climate variation.
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and low below freezing temperatures.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
  • Climb ladders.
