Job Summary
The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applications for four temporary Full-Time Instructors to begin August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year (four per semester), at the undergraduate level. The specific teaching assignment will depend on the candidate’s interests, but the department has particular needs in Introduction to Philosophy, Introductory Logic, Introduction to Ethics, Food Ethics, Health Care Ethics, Business Ethics, and Environmental Ethics. The position is a temporary (non-tenure-eligible) appointment that will begin in August 2025 and end in May 2026. The UK philosophy department is a pluralistic department open to broad range of philosophical approaches in philosophy.

Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Philosophy with a PhD preferred.
