Title: General Maintenance/ Laborer - Bedford Campus (3 Vacancies)

Unit: Part-Time Non-Unit

Department: Facilities

Reports to: Director of Facilities, Bedford Campus

Date: May 21, 2025 (Update June 10, 2025)

General Summary: Individuals in this position will complete janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping or maintenance tasks. There are two vacancies available on the Lowell Campus for part-time assistance in facilities operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Completes in-house demolition work
  • Cleans and maintains safe work areas
  • Loads, unloads, and cleans vehicles
  • Removes trash and recyclables
  • Paint and refresh spaces after construction
  • Operates motor vehicles
  • Assists craftspeople performing building and grounds maintenance
  • Sweeps floors and sidewalks, rakes leaves and operates grounds maintenance equipment
  • Maintains clean and safe work areas
  • Assist in beautification of campus grounds
  • Performs other duties as required


Job Requirements:
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders and scaffolds.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license


Additional Information:

Salary: $17.94 per hour in accordance with the College's Part-Time Wage Schedule

Location: Bedford campus with occasional travel to Lowell as needed.

Hours: Not to exceed 20 hours per week; exact schedule to be determined upon hire with a 6:30am start time.

Expected Start Date: August 2025
