About the role:

Control and Manage a trailer Fleet on a continual basis, requiring close coordination on demand side with Network Operations and to improve efficiency and safety for organization ground fleet through activities like vehicle and trailer tracking, reporting on fuel consumption, monitoring of driver behaviour and management of Fleet maintenance in line with functional plans and Group guidelines and policies.

• Overseer of currently 730 core trailers and 240 hire trailers (in 2023 it was 558 core and 264 hire),
• Booking/ planning service events trailers,
• On WM operator licence
• Dealing with VOR trailers in network,
• Prepare plans to maintain electronic databases of sales, registration, inspections and maintenance of fleet management
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
• Weekly service/ MOT report
• Challenging lead times with Suppliers, Creating Hold plans.
• Locating trailers,
• Liaise with linehaul/ network,
• Liaise with workshops for trailers, driving quality and challenging failures.
• Prepare plans for effective data management system to organize fleets as per various schedules and requests
• Identify, establish contact and maintain relationships with external transport providers (e.g., fuel suppliers, trucking / shipping/ companies, etc.)
• Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties e.g. external service providers 
• Authorising work/ defect numbers,

The ideal candidate will have:

• Transport National and International Certificate of Professional Competance
• O’licence holder for the business and Hub
• Xp level- 4 years
• Experience in Fleet Management
• Experience in Trailer Management
• Transport legalities
