Provide engineering and technical assistance on-site for projects as needed. Primary responsibilities focus on assistance with surveying, project planning, project analysis, and other engineering support to include Leica Geosystem troubleshooting, on-site project adjustments, ensuring structures are installed properly, budgeting, data collection, and data summary tasks on stream and wetland mitigation banking construction projects.
Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide pre- and post-construction surveys for stream and wetland restoration construction projects.
- Conduct weekly and monthly job reporting for stream and wetland restoration construction projects.
- Complete or aid in organizing, entering, analyzing, and reporting project operating statistics.
- Complete or assist in calculating production requirements, schedules, and costs for projects, including the areas of equipment, operating supplies, labor, and other production and cost-related data as required.
- Perform field monitoring and data collection of wetland and stream mitigation sites.
- Complete or assist with project budgeting and planning.
- Provide other engineering, computer, or technical assistance as directed.
- Perform job duties in accordance with OSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, existing company policies, and state and federal environmental regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics software, as well as personal computers and networks.
- Strong ability to communicate engineering/technical information effectively through verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete projects promptly and professionally.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Must have basic surveying knowledge and the ability to learn construction surveying equipment and techniques.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to comprehend construction schematics.
- Must be able to operate a UTV safely in all conditions.
- Ability to travel to sites as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Equivalent related experience will also be considered.
- 0 – 3+ years of related work experience.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and/or related certifications may be considered for experience requirements.
