Description:
The Institutional Cores provide support to multiple scientists and operate state of the art innovative technology. The Research Associate will be responsible for routine instrument maintenance, and support of study and process development for sample processing related to multiple research projects largely based in a life sciences laboratory. The Research Associate will report to one or more Institutional Core Managers.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Performs complex scientific research tasks
- Develops or improves techniques to address research needs
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates research activities
- Generates records, and compiles research data
- Prepares project reports
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Master's degree in biological or molecular science with at least two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least four years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Experience - Knowledge of flow cytometry (acquisition, analyses, cell sorting), microscopy (tissue staining and image acquisition/analyses) and/or molecular biology techniques (e.g. Nucleic Acid extractions, qPCR, sequencing). Knowledge in in-vitro ex-vivo lab work assays.
- Other Skills – good at multitasking and detail oriented; excellent record-keeping ability; strong communication, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills; advanced computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and database management principles.
