We are currently hiring a Senior Project Engineer to support the construction of a large, high-profile project in Los Angeles, CA. This opportunity will have you working within our public works sector. The Public Works team is a prime consultant to state, county, and municipality projects nationally. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to ensure a successful project outcome. This position will be based in downtown Los Angeles and is a great opportunity to join a leading Construction Management firm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical and engineering support to the client's team including Project Managers and Construction Managers.

  • Coordinates with Architect for timely and accurate responses to requests for information.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and distribution of current contract plans and specifications.

  • Makes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration, addition, or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, and client requirements.

  • Documents progress of construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects, logging photographs, daily project reports and notes as required.

  • Assists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Logs and tracks status of project change order proposals, field orders, and approved change orders.

  • Maintains project files and record drawings.

  • Logs and reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications.

  • Assists in coordinating and recording minutes of meetings with project stakeholders.

  • Assists in review of submittal procedures, RFI’s and monthly invoices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience with the Addenda and Bid process.

  • Ability to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Familiarity with public contracting code.

  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values.

  • Hold self accountable to individual and team goals.

  • Consistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field required.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction management of commercial and/or public works projects.

The salary range for this full-time role is $84,400.00-$112,533.35 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
