Role Purpose:
The Team Leader has an overall responsibility for leading the team allocated and oversee the process flow of the operation within their area of control and responsibility from both administrative and operational levels. This is a hands-on role which requires the person to oversee the team they lead and operations of the DC area allocated.
Key tasks:
Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures
Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Track and coordinate the receipt, process and timely dispatch of the shipments
Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements
Maintain inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances and entering data.
Key Accountabilities:
Select, orient, train and coach warehouse human resource
Receive, process and dispatch shipments withing the set time
Measure, manage, report and drive improvement in warehouse productivity thereby reducing operational costs
Ensure standard operation procedures are followed in accordance with the safe work plan
Health and safety of the warehouse human resource and security of the warrehouse area
Ensure RACA standard is met
Requirements:
2 years’ experience within airline, transportation or logistics industry.
Strong in Excel and MS suite of products
Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written
Builds and maintains strong professional relationships
Pronounced ability to use own initiative and high level of motivation
Quick comprehension and analytical approach
Very good communication skills and strong social competence combined with a “can do” approach
High level of independence and ability to set priorities
