SIUE is on the lookout for a dynamic, forward-thinking, budget-building, system-streamlining powerhouse to serve as our next Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Budget (AP25-061). You will lead the charge in aligning money with mission, ensuring every dollar helps drive student success, academic excellence, and the university's long-term strategic goals.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Budget Leader: Oversee the development and management of SIUE's multi-year operational and capital budgets-designing the blueprint for our financial future.
  • Strategic Partner: Provide high-level financial insights and guidance to the Chancellor, VCFA, and leadership across the university to support big decisions with bold data.
  • Data-Driven Innovator: Build and maintain cutting-edge reporting and forecasting systems to deliver real-time, accurate financial reports.
  • Efficiency Expert: Unite teams, streamline operations, and make financial processes run smoothly and efficiently across departments.
  • Capital Planning Leader: Lead the preparation and execution of the University's annual Capital RAMP budget request.
  • Change Agent: Drive transformation in financial operations to reduce waste, maximize resources, and support the people who matter most-our students, staff, and faculty.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

-Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration or related field
-Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in budgeting, financial management, or related fields, in a large, complex organization
-Demonstrated experience with capital and facilities financial planning and management including scheduled maintenance and new construction
-Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
-Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse organizational units

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, or related field
-Relevant professional licensure (Certified Public Accountant/CPA, Certified Management Accountant/CMA or similar financial certification
-At least 5 years of supervisory experience)
-Experience working on a higher education campus
