We're seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Assistant in Tappan, NY, with experience repairing and maintaining trucks and heavy equipment, to perform preventative and non-scheduled maintenance on various types of equipment.

The starting pay is $25.00-$35.00 per hour depending on experience. We offer 100% fully paid on-the-job training.

What You'll Do:

• Inspect, repair, and replace components and systems on industrial trucks and operational equipment.
• Complete repairs and regular maintenance on a variety of equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, robotics, high-pressure water pumps, and other relevant components.
• Conduct thorough inspections of brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other crucial parts to ensure optimal operational conditions.
• Use measuring and diagnostic tools to evaluate and test equipment, making adjustments, conducting tests, and performing repairs,
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, maintaining detailed daily maintenance and repair records.
• Move machinery as needed,
• Manage inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including proper upkeep of tools and equipment.

What We Need from You:

• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience, with previous experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, high-pressure pumps, and ASE certification.
• Knowledge and understanding of diesel and gas engines, and hydraulic systems.
• CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Extensive travel is required.
• Proficient in the use of online systems and computer software.
• Knowledgeable with reading diagnostic codes and able to diagnose complex issues.
