Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily activities of the technical team in the design, development and testing of new products.
- Develop and execute schedule and budget commitments relative to assigned projects and communicate risks to management.
- Ensure new product development procedures are adhered to and that recommendations for continuous improvement relative to lessons learned are communicated and incorporated into revised procedures.
- Multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive projects to successfully meet key milestones.
- Work in high performance cross-functional teams to improve the teams’ performance and efficiencies
- Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- Manage and assist with timely preparation of engineering documentation to substantiate product design and compliance to specifications, including but not limited to Analysis Reports, Failure Investigations Reports, Project Plans, Test Plans, Project deliverable documents and Engineering Changes.
- Communicate with customers on technical and project management related topics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience. Five years’ experience in an aerospace gear system, transmission, or actuation related industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
- Career-level experienced professional able to carry out a full range of professional duties.
- Experience working in and coordinating product development teams, creating project plans, performing risk assessments, and working resource plans necessary for successful program execution.
- Must be diligent and detail oriented with the ability to be self-directed when given general guidance and parameters.
- Ability to read and understand technical requirements, statements of work and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of mechanical system design, integration, and development.
- High proficiency in written and verbal communication in a cross functional team critical.
