Come join our team! EMUS is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Lawrenceville, GA. In this fast-paced, hands-on working environment, the Safety Engineer will spend time on the floor, working closely with operations to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control health hazards arising from the work environment.
The Safety Engineer will:
Research environmental, health and safety regulation and develop EH&S policies, forms, manuals and procedures. Identify gaps between proposed regulations and EMUS practices and recommend actions to ensure compliance. Review, update and evaluate the effectiveness of current programs, policies and procedures and modify when necessary.
Investigate and determine the root cause of moderately complex to complex incidents. Issue Corrective Action Requests (CARs), recommend corrective action for incidents and hazards, and follow up to ensure action is taken. Prepare environmental, industrial hygiene and job analysis reports as required for workers' compensation cases.
Review, assess and approve change to production equipment, process and material to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and EMUS specifications. Specify action items required for compliance, verify the completion of action items, and approve the production change.
Conduct moderately complex to complex audits, tests or inspections.
Develop and implement systems, procedures and process improvements to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of reports, analyses and documentation to support 5S, Ricoh Way Production, environmental and safety compliance.
Develop and deploy training programs and deliver presentations to educate employees on 5S, Ricoh Way Production, environmental and safety practices and methods.
Respond to 24-hour emergency calls regarding employee injuries, industrial accidents, natural disasters, power failures, etc. and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of employees and safeguarding of property.

Required
Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
Experience
Required
5 years:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of the practical application of concepts and principles in the environmental engineering or safety engineering discipline.
Thorough knowledge of injury and illness prevention and federal, state and local laws and regulations governing health and safety.
Must have good communication (verbal and written) with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred
Bilingual in Japanese is a plus.
