Overview

ITT Micro-Mode is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team in El Cajon, CA. This role is responsible for operating CNC equipment, including a CMS 2-axis lathe and a Cubic 3-axis lathe, to produce high-quality components for business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in CNC machine operation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure consistent part quality and production efficiency.



Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes, including a CMS 2-axis lathe and Cubic 3-axis lathe, to produce precision components.
  • Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators) and document results.
  • Follow setup instructions, work orders, and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and offsets as needed to maintain part quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and 5S standards.
  • Communicate with setup personnel, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a production environment.
  • Experience operating 2-axis and 3-axis CNC lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with basic CNC controls and machine interface operations.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
