ITT Micro-Mode is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team in El Cajon, CA. This role is responsible for operating CNC equipment, including a CMS 2-axis lathe and a Cubic 3-axis lathe, to produce high-quality components for business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in CNC machine operation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure consistent part quality and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC lathes, including a CMS 2-axis lathe and Cubic 3-axis lathe, to produce precision components.
Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications.
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators) and document results.
Follow setup instructions, work orders, and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
Perform basic machine adjustments and offsets as needed to maintain part quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and 5S standards.
Communicate with setup personnel, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
3–5 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a production environment.
Experience operating 2-axis and 3-axis CNC lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiarity with basic CNC controls and machine interface operations.
