Overview


The Hägglöf Lab studies how B lymphocytes sense and respond to molecular stresses and insults to determine how B cell coping mechanisms control antibody formation and immune responses in contexts of cancer and vaccination. Therefore, the lab performs immunological assays to study B cells including flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescent microscopy), mouse colony management, genotyping, tissue isolation from mouse bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes.



Responsibilities


  • Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
  • Mouse ear punching
  • Mouse weaning
  • Mouse injections
  • Tissue harvesting
  • Immunoessays
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Tissue Prep for Micropsy
  • Require occasional guidance;
  • Order routine supplies;
  • Modify technical procedures;
  • Train other lab members;
  • Guide other lab members;
  • A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
  • Occasionally analyze data;
  • Interpret data;
  • Make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*

 



Qualifications


  • Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
  • previous experience from B cell biology lab preferred
  • prior experience from a B cell lab, working with memory B cells or plasma cells

 


Hiring Rate:26.80


Post Probationary Rate:27.33


Job Rate:28.18



Maximum Salary Range:USD $26.80/Hr.
