Position Summary:

Analytical Services (ANSER) is seeking a Senior Analyst and Writer to support the Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) Facilities Services Directorate (FSD). In this role, you will work directly with the Acting Director, and Deputy Director FSD in the execution of projects that support the FSD mission to provide comprehensive lifecycle facility management and supporting the day-to-day working environment for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Military Departments Congress and the White House in the National Capital Region and beyond. In this role you will provide thorough analysis on a broad range of topics and have the demonstrated ability to research, organize, write, and edit staff packages. 

This position requires on-site support in the Pentagon, Monday through Friday, during core business hours of 8am-4pm. Potential for telework after an appropriate amount of time supporting the office and upon client approval may be considered.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Review content of technical and professional written material. The written material includes but not limited to letters, memoranda, reports, guidance documents, & issuances.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify root cause problems and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data from disparate stakeholders.
  • Adjudicate dissimilar information and content that align to a fix position and identify common threads and connections.
  • Utilize and implement the established requirements in the DoD Guides and Manuals on written correspondence.
  • Independently author draft decision and directive memoranda for senior leadership signature.
  • Provide support as an author, editor and analyst for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) with the ability to logically present information.
  • Manage adherence to a style guide for all branding and messaging.
  • Lead revision and updates in accordance with the DoD style guide.
  • Provide broad experience and technical knowledge to propose solutions to complex business problems.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree.
  • 12 years experience providing services to senior general/flag officer ranks and/or SES levels within the DoD.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required at date of hire.
  • Comprehensive familiarity with DoD and OSD policy, priorities, and strategy.
  • Prior experience working with and/or supporting senior-level officials and knowledge of the structure and missions of the OSD and the internal OSD Components.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical information into plain language for effective communication with DoD and other USG staff in the performance of all duties, tasks and services.
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism, tact, and experience working with senior DoD leadership.
