Salary Range:  $210K–$225K annually

VA works directly with local organizations, including governments, to reach nutritionally vulnerable populations – pregnant women, infants, and young children – who are underserved by existing systems. Role or Purpose of Position 

The Vice President of Programs drives the execution and operationalization of Vitamin Angels' global public health nutrition strategy. The Vice President of Programs, in partnership with Chief Nutrition Officer (CNO), guides all aspects of program implementation, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, high-impact programs that advance Vitamin Angels’ mission.

Working closely with the CNO and the broader strategic leadership team (SLT), the Vice President of Programs leads global program team, fosters operational excellence, ensures strong partnerships with partner organizations, and contributes to evidence generation and impact modeling efforts. This is a critical leadership role requiring global public health programming expertise, operational leadership, and the ability to drive change and innovation across a globally distributed team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Level of Decision-Making 

Within the bounds of VA’s mission, values and policies, and sound professional practices, the Vice President of Programs has the discretion to use independent judgment to make decisions of significant consequence that affect VA clients, partners, and employees.  

Organizational Relationships 

VA operates under a collaborative, matrix management model. The Vice President of Programs establishes their own daily work priorities and ensures that all responsibilities are conducted consistent with sound professional judgment and within an established budget.

Qualifications and Skills (Required and Preferred)  

Required: 

• Doctorate degree in public health, nutrition, epidemiology, or a related field with demonstrated application (e.g., 40+ peer-reviewed publications; track record of submitting and receiving donor funding).
• 10 + years of experience in public health programming and/or applied research.
• Superior public speaking skills, with strong track record of presenting across different audiences. 
• Track record of leading large global team and partner network.
• Strong operational skills, including budget management, organization structuring, resource planning, and strategic execution.
• Strong interpersonal, team leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to mobilize multi-sector collaboration across donors, governments, academia, multilateral organizations, and non-governmental organizations. 
• Ability to travel or live internationally (45% plus).
