RSi is looking to fill an Aircraft Mechanic I position at Fort Benning, GA, to support our Army customer. You will be part of a robust team working to maintain the aircraft used by the Army Ranger School. This role is full-time, first shift (0700 – 1530) on our UH60 Program.

Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft engines and auxiliary power units. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Removes, installs, and services aircraft subsystem assemblies and components.
  • Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and services.
  • Performs limited maintenance operational checks and troubleshoots aircraft systems.
  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Uses a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • When qualified and when required can perform non-crew member duties.
  • When qualified and assigned to crane operator duties shall have three years of crane operation related experience and shall comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, Subpart: CC Cranes & Derricks in Construction 1926.1427 Operator qualification and Certification.
  • When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties.
  • Working with and repairing sheet metal as needed.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

 

This position is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as well as a pre-employment physical. 


Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications: 

  • Aircraft maintenance personnel will have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training (by validation of qualifying factors to include documented prior military experience and training) on the MDS H60 series, they will be performing maintenance actions on, 
  • Or have a current (valid) FAA A&P license and at least one (1) years of documented experience in general aviation.
  • High School Graduate or GED


Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications: 

  • Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements UH-60
  • Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.


Work Environment:  Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings.


Physical Environment (outside, inside, heights, stairs etc.) /Requirements (lifting, heights, bending etc.):  

  • Will be required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.


Other: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment.
