What You'll Do

We are seeking a "hands-on" Lead, Data Architect to who thrives on both big-picture thinking as well as getting into the technical details. In this "hands-on" role, you'll guide a our team of database developers, ETL engineers and database administrators in this roll up your sleeves enviornment.
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide data integration design, development, testing, and deployment in on-prem and AWS environments, including storage, processing, ETL and analytics native to AWS
Design, implement, and manage our organization's on-prem and cloud data architecture
Creating logical and physical data models to ensure data is organized and accessible for various Theradex applications and analytics
Maintain and expand a complex data integration architecture
Analyze current on-premises server infrastructure, identifying suitable workloads for cloud migration, and developing a migration strategy including cost analysis and timeline
Develop data migration plans to move data from on-premises servers to the cloud, including data cleansing, transformation, and validation processes
Ensure ETL process reliability and high performance
Troubleshoot ETL and reporting system issues efficiently, applying related experience and best practices
Provide effective leadership to team via coaching, development, continuous feedback and day-to-day management.
Replace manual processes with automation
Perform database design and Oracle development as needed, to meet expanding data integration and reporting needs
Continuously improve the data architecture to meet changing business needs and technological advancements.
Automate checks that all incoming records were successfully processed and loaded
Work effectively with business analysts, project managers, system validators, developers, and clients
Clearly communicate designs and project status
Apply Oracle programming, report development, and ETL Talend experience to enhance and maintain a complex, internally developed, Clinical Trials Reporting system
Manage time effectively. Accurately estimate effort for tasks and meet agreed-upon deadlines. Effectively juggle ad-hoc requests and longer-term projects
Adhere to SOPs for computer system validation and all GCP (Good Clinical Practice) regulations. Respond promptly to requests from Validation/Test team for documentation or bug fixes
Gain knowledge of clinical data and terms used in clinical trials. Have an interest in understanding the science behind clinical drug research
What You Need
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Level of Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Prior Experience
2+ years of ETL (Extract Transform Load) Development to develop ETL flows and deploy jobs in AWS environments.
2+ Experience and knowledge in ETL tool Talend and AWS Native ETL Tools
5+ years hands-on experience with Oracle, including 19c or higher, performing database design, and package, view, function and stored procedure development
3+ years experience in report development, including exposure to Business Intelligence Tools
2+ years in cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, etc. including hands on experience with Cloud data structure environments like Redshift
Basic Java knowledge to operate Talend expressions
Experience with the clinical data domain, the clinical trial process, computer system validation processes, and GCP and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations highly preferred
Prior experience managing direct reports is highly preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $135,000-$165,000 with bonus potential. The actual salary offer will be based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies for the role.
