Position Summary:  

Comtech Systems, Inc. (CSI) is looking for an?Instructor/Content Developer Wireless/IoT/SCADA (Sr)?to manage training and development programs supporting one of our government clients in Columbia, MD. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver training on wireless and embedded systems security, SCADA protocol analysis (e.g., Modbus, DNP3), and IoT device forensics.
  • Conduct lab-based, scenario-driven instruction using virtual and physical control system environments.
  • Train students in vulnerability assessment, packet capture, wireless penetration testing, and device emulation.
  • Support course development in alignment with DCWF work roles such as 541 (ICS Security Analyst) and 411 (Systems Security Analyst).
  • Integrate threat intelligence and real-world examples of infrastructure attacks (e.g., Stuxnet, TRITON) into instruction.
  • Prepare and/or conduct training programs of a nontechnical nature, teach classes, hold seminars, and lead discussion groups.?
  • Design and deliver training programs for all levels of personnel.?
  • Develop tests and visual aids, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.?
  • Formulate a teaching outline in conformance with the selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of the specified training needs and the effectiveness of various training methods, including individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.?
  • Stay current with training and development research, including learning theory, motivation theory, and emerging materials, methods, and techniques.?
  • Develop in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and enhancing their effectiveness in current assignments. Evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.?
  • Develop e-learning programs. Confer with management, employees, and clients to gain insight into work situations that require training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.?
  • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.?
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.?
  • Facilitate the execution of all training programs.?
  • Monitor training costs to ensure the budget is not exceeded and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.
  • Modes of Course Delivery:? Instructor Led, Live-Virtual, Mobile Training Team


Qualifications:? 

  • 5+ years of experience in ICS/SCADA, wireless security, or IoT security environments.
  • Operational experience in cyber operations, red team, or ICS defense roles.
  • Certifications such as GICSP, GPEN, GWAPT, OSWP, or CWNA/CWSP.
  • Strong background in lab development and student mentorship.
  • Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Kismet, Shodan, ModbusPal, and SCADA simulators.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of working experience in the competency areas of the courses to be instructed (unless otherwise exempted by the government).
  • Experience working under general supervision to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.?
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training of a similar type to the courses they are assigned.
