Administrative Assistant- Dental Assistant Training Program
The Administrative Assistant will provide primary professional administrative support to the Dental Assisting Training Program and the program’s management. This position will ensure that all university policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed and are communicated within the program. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to admissions, trainee support and progress tracking, creating and distributing program marketing, purchasing and budgeting, generation of data and narratives as required for funding, and serving as a primary point of contact related to trainees and their clinical sites. Incumbent will also serve as the direct supervisor to student worker dental assistants which includes the hiring, onboarding, and creating weekly schedules based on school need. The School of Dental Medicine seeks candidates with the following qualifications: highly self-motivated, well-organized, and the ability to maintain and prioritize concurrent projects in a professional manner. Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels including management both within and outside of the University including clinical site managers, community contacts, instructors, directors, deans, and department heads.
Occasional local travel may be required to recruitment events.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but consideration will be given to individuals possessing an Associate degree with at least five years of experience or in lieu of a degree, progressive administrative experience in a university and/or dental-related setting. Experience with grants in any capacity is also preferred.

Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.
Essential functions include the ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods, proficient use of telephone, Microsoft one-drive programs, calculator, and the ability to professionally communicate via phone, email, and virtual platforms. Must be able to attend meetings in-person or virtually. High level or writing and reading skills are required. Ability to attend local area recruitment events is required with the transport of program event supplies. Must be willing to function as a direct supervisor to a group of student workers.
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to move about the school to perform duties. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
