Description:

The Wildlife Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of a team of Wildlife Technicians with Varment Guard – Wildlife Division of Plunkett's Pest Control. The ideal candidate is an energetic, results-driven professional who excels in leadership, fosters a positive team environment, and promotes quality, development, and growth. This role plays a key part in maintaining high service standards, driving team success, and ensuring an excellent client experience.


Essential Job Duties:

• Lead, monitor, and manage a team of Wildlife Technicians to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

• Participate in and drive the growth and development of the assigned territory.

• Define and oversee sales goals and results.

• Lead large account setups and key projects.

• Promote a culture of quality and excellence in wildlife and pest control services.

• Identify training needs and deliver effective training for new and current technicians.

• Troubleshoot service issues and work collaboratively with technicians to resolve challenges.

• Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to team members.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring satisfaction and retention.

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to OSHA, state regulations, and company policies.

• Review and analyze operational reports to optimize route efficiency and technician productivity.

• Monitor and manage operating costs, including labor, materials, supplies, and fleet expenses.

• Communicate effectively with internal teams, leadership, and clients through verbal, written, and digital channels.

Requirements:

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to meet or exceed each duty and responsibility listed above.


Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and effectively.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

• Proficiency in using application equipment, inspection equipment, and hand tools.

• Availability to work extended hours and some weekends as needed.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to obtain:

• - Commercial Nuisance Wild Animal Control Operator Certification (ODNR).

• - Ohio Department of Agriculture licensing in Core, 10A (General Structural Pest Management), and 7 (Vertebrate Pest Management).

• Successful completion of a physical capability assessment, drug screening, and background check.


Preferred Requirements:

• Degree in Wildlife Management or related field.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems while maintaining accurate records.

• At least six months of experience in route management, sales, customer service, or account management.

• Familiarity with computer-based and mobile applications.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Frequent communication via phone, face-to-face, text, and email.

• Regular lifting/pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.

• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, overhead reaching, ladder climbing, confined space work, prolonged walking and sitting.

• Working at heights on rooftops of various angles.

• Tolerance of various indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dampness, and dust.
