Position Overview:
This position supports the U.S. Air Force Product Lifecycle Management (AF-PLM) Program Office in its enterprise digital transformation efforts by serving as a senior advisor and engagement lead to multiple Program Executive Offices (PEOs). Drawing on deep acquisition, engineering, and lifecycle management experience, the advisor will strengthen alignment between enterprise PLM capabilities and evolving PEO mission needs across the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as senior engagement lead between the AF-PLM program and assigned PEO(s), leveraging deep USAF institutional knowledge and relationships.
Act as trusted advisor to PEO leaders and program offices on adoption of digital thread, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and enterprise PLM capabilities.
Facilitate cross-organizational alignment on PLM priorities, including configuration/data management, technical baseline control, sustainment planning, and interoperability.
Translate strategic PEO objectives into actionable AF-PLM support initiatives and system integration roadmaps.
Support stakeholder working groups, strategy sessions, governance forums, and senior-level briefings to advance digital engineering maturity within the PEO.
Identify adoption challenges and institutional barriers; advise AF-PLM leadership on risk mitigation and change management strategies.
Provide coaching and mentorship to program-level engineers and acquisition professionals on the effective use of PLM tools and processes.
Capture lessons learned and emerging requirements from the field to inform AF-PLM capability evolution.
Required Experience:
Strong familiarity with the USAF digital engineering transformation landscape, including AF-PLM, MBSE, and data governance efforts.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior military, civilian, and industry leaders.
Broad understanding of PLM functions including configuration management, technical data management, and systems integration.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional coordination, enterprise policy interpretation, and strategic alignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Involvement in USAF or DoD-level digital transformation initiatives.
DAWIA Level III (Program Management, Engineering, or Life Cycle Logistics) or equivalent legacy certification.
Prior participation in digital acquisition or engineering governance bodies (e.g., DEIX, AFMC/EN councils, etc.).
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or other major PLM platforms.
