Position Summary: 

Comtech Systems, Inc. (CSI) is looking for a?Senior Information System Security Office / Facility Security Officer (ISSO/FSO)?to support information assurance and security activities supporting one of our government clients in Columbia, MD. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide programmatic consultation in support of information systems and networks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, availability, authenticity, and non-repudiation of data being assembled, processed, transmitted, and stored.?
  • Assess privacy governance methodology conditions and implement a program that can be applied to discrete privacy tasks or managing privacy and sensitive data at the enterprise level.??
  • Manage and direct the implementation, testing, and validation of physical, technical, and administrative security requirements and assist in the design of a strong security operations program and an effective business continuity plan.??
  • Evaluate programs against Privacy Act, HIPAA/HITECH, Federal and commercial regulations and guidance (e.g., NIST, FISMA, OMB).?
  • May monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to protect data systems and databases from unauthorized users.?
  • Determine causes of security breaches and research, recommend, and implement changes to procedures to protect data from future violations.?
  • Assist in educating users on security procedures.?
  • Maintain one or more of the following professional certifications: CISM, CIPA, CISSP.

 
Qualifications:? 

  • Career-level application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.?
  • Experience working under only general direction to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.?
  • Capabilities reflect a strong foundation in Federal laws and regulations governing information security/privacy and information assurance and a working knowledge of the security standards and controls utilized by Federal civilian agencies, the DoD, and the Intelligence Community.??
  • Experience working independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions.?
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain.

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 yrs of experience, or a Master's degree and 3 to 5 yrs of experience.
