Role Context
To safely pick-up and deliver customer materials and ensure proper handling, transporting and consignment of materials in a timely, courteous and efficient manner in accordance with company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Pick-up and deliver time-sensitive customer materials from/to clients within established time constraints.
· Accurately record and verify shipment details, prepare delivery and pick-up sheets, airwaybills and commercial invoices and ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
· Attempt 100% delivery of all materials daily and whenever necessary, return undelivered shipments to the Ground Operations Supervisor giving reasons for non-delivery.
· Inspect outbound customer shipments in the presence of the shipper to ensure that the material complies with the company and customs regulations.
· Check accuracy of customer or agent completed airwaybills/ proforma invoices and amend if necessary, before shipment is finally accepted and processed for shipping.
· Ensure vehicles and courier boxes are kept locked at all times.
· Collect cash/cheques from customers for shipment and/or invoices paid and present to the designated personnel.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
First University / HND Degree in Business Studies / Administration or equivalent education
· 2 years experience in Operations area
• Good knowledge of global air express and/or the freight forwarding business
