The pay for this role is $16.85-$18.95.

About the role: 

The AFP Intern will support key functions across the Accounting, Finance, and Procurement departments. This role involves working proactively with department stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial modeling and reporting. Responsibilities include preparing reports, enhancing analyses, and assisting with the month-end close of accounting books.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Finance & Treasury 
    • Assist the Treasury Analyst in preparing reports for the weekly internal ALM & Liquidity meeting. 
    • Support the Finance team with preparation of the 2026 budget forecast. 
    • Assist Financial Analyst with preparation of profitability reporting (NPV, IRR, ROI, etc.). 
    • Assist with internal audits and regulatory examinations. 
  • Accounting 
    • Support the month-end close process. 
    • Assist in preparing monthly board reports. 
    • Participate in internal audits and regulatory exams. 
  • Procurement 
    • Assist with the vendor review process. 
    • Support preliminary contract review process. 
    • Help with inventory management process. 
    • Assist with fixed asset audit review process.
    • Participate in internal audits and regulatory exams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience Under one year of similar or preparatory experience.
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses: Currently enrolled and in good standing in a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting or Finance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Work involves minimal contact, usually within the organization. Communications typically involve routine, non-sensitive issues.
  • Other Skills 
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. 
    • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills including the ability identify alternatives to assist management with decision making. 
    • Effective task prioritization, expectation management, and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on maintaining positive working relationships. 
    • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
