The Role:

Director of Operational Excellence

Galen Healthcare Solutions, a subsidiary of RLDatix, is a fast-growing healthcare technology and services company dedicated to improving patient outcomes and healthcare operations. We pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, deep domain expertise, and relentless pursuit of operational excellence. As we grow, we are seeking a strategic leader who can help us move faster, smarter, and with greater impact.

Position Summary:

The Director of Operational Excellence is a senior-level role reporting directly to the COO. This position is responsible for driving strategic operational initiatives that enable Galen Healthcare Solutions to scale effectively while maintaining high performance across teams. The Director will work closely with senior leadership across all departments—including Implementation, Sales, Data Migration, and HR—to identify, prioritize, and execute on opportunities for improved operational efficiency, onboarding, forecasting, and overall business acceleration.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role designed to serve as an operational force multiplier for the leadership team, providing structure, insight, and execution support in an environment experiencing rapid growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Strategy & Execution
    • Partner with the COO and leadership team to identify and prioritize strategic operational initiatives across the organization.
    • Develop, implement, and lead initiatives to improve cross-functional processes, optimize resource utilization, and drive scalable growth.
    • Own execution of high-impact projects that remove bottlenecks, reduce complexity, and improve workflows.
  • Business Acceleration
    • Lead efforts to enhance organizational agility and scalability in response to increasing client demand and rapid growth.
    • Proactively evaluate business workflows and recommend improvements in onboarding, implementation, migration, and forecasting practices.
    • Collaborate with leadership to assess and evolve operational programs and frameworks that support business expansion.
  • Onboarding & Capacity Management
    • Oversee design and refinement of onboarding processes to accelerate new hire readiness and productivity.
    • Work with talent and department leads to ensure effective capacity planning and workload balancing.
    • Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure onboarding effectiveness and iterate for continuous improvement.
  • Forecasting & Utilization Analysis
    • Work with stakeholders across Sales, Implementation, and Delivery to align forecasting with capacity planning and staffing models.
    • Develop insights into team and individual utilization to improve efficiency and inform resource planning.
    • Identify patterns and gaps in resource deployment and propose solutions for optimization.
  • Change Management & Leadership Enablement
    • Support leaders by helping to execute on operational ideas and strategies that are often deprioritized due to day-to-day demands.
    • Serve as a thought partner to senior leaders, offering a fresh, unbiased perspective on long-standing challenges.
    • Enable smoother, more structured operations across Galen’s business units.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 8+ years in operational excellence, business operations, or consulting, preferably within healthcare technology or services.
    • Proven experience in driving cross-functional operational improvements in a high-growth environment.
    • Experience in organizational scaling, change management, and strategic planning.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision-making mindset.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
    • Demonstrated ability to work across functional areas and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Comfortable operating in ambiguity with the ability to quickly assess, adapt, and execute.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of healthcare technology services and workflows.
    • Experience with onboarding program design, resource planning tools, or forecasting models.
    • Based in or near Chicago is a plus, but not required.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A fresh perspective—not bogged down by legacy processes or internal “baggage.”
  • A bias for action—not just identifying problems but building and executing plans to solve them.
  • A strategic partner mindset—able to collaborate closely with department leaders while pushing initiatives forward.
  • The capacity to accelerate—helping the business move faster and more smoothly as we grow.

Why Galen Healthcare Solutions:

  • High-impact role with visibility across the company.
  • Opportunity to shape the operational future of a rapidly growing business.
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture.
  • Supportive leadership and strong executive sponsorship.
