The Human Resources Site Leader will partner with the broader HR team to lead and manage the hiring and interviewing, employee relations, workers compensation/OSHA compliance, leave of absence management, and recommend and develop company policies and practices applicable to the assigned site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Recruiting & Sourcing. Manages recruiting efforts for the facility including sourcing, interviewing, and partnering with hiring managers in hiring and pay decisions. Proactively partners with local colleges and organizations to recruit and source candidates.
- Employee Relations. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management and employees (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Leave of Absence Management. Manage the leave of absence process, ensuring leaves are compliant with all applicable state and federal laws.
- Compensation Administration. Works with HR Manager to establish and maintain compensation structures and makes adjustments to pay scales and pay grades based on market analysis and internal equity.
- Job Analysis. Works with managers to ensure job descriptions are up to date and accurately reflect roles and responsibilities. Ensures positions are classified correctly according to FLSA guidelines.
- Workers Compensation (WC) Administration/OSHA Compliance. Partners with Safety Interim Coordinator/Safety Consulting Firm to ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Manages and maintains facility WC program. Completes claim investigations, insurance provider correspondence, OSHA logs and various procedures for matters relating to WC.
- Ensures site management processes annual performance appraisals through HRIS in a timely manner.
- Coaches management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment, etc.
- Drives continuous improvement and streamlining of HR processes and procedures.
- Leads and manages special projects, which may be large or of a significant scale, as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of employment records, issues, or other company information.
Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws such as FLSA, ADA, AAP, etc.
- Ability to appropriately balance both the needs of the company as well as act as employee advocate.
- Strong communication skills; verbal, written as well as active listening skills. Able to successfully communicate to various levels within the organization as well as be comfortable speaking in public.
- Possess strong IT skills (such as MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS systems, ATS, etc.)
- Possess a high level of professionalism when interacting with employees, management, or outside individuals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully juggle competing priorities.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail & accuracy, particularly with employee records management.
- Possess strong influencing, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information; possess strong integrity and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of OSHA and related safety compliance requirements preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or other related degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive job-related experience in human resources.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment strongly desired.
- PHR, SHRM-CP certification strongly desired.
