Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Shift
Monday through Friday; day shift during clinic hours.
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Senior Technician II/UKHC – Pharmacist Care plays a supportive role in the delivery and coordination of long-acting injectable (LAI) psychiatric services within our clinic. Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the technician will assist in ensuring timely, safe, and efficient care for patients receiving LAI medications.

In this role, the pharmacy technician will help prepare for and support the administration of long-acting injectables by coordinating appointment logistics, verifying insurance coverage, assisting with inventory management, and preparing documentation for pharmacist review. The technician will be responsible for monitoring and recording patient vital signs post-injection, ensuring any concerns are promptly communicated to the pharmacist or clinical team. This position involves close collaboration with pharmacists, providers, and care teams to support patient access and continuity of care for individuals with serious mental illness.

Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
