Category: Training & Development
Kastle - Falls Church

Overview

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Field & Technical Enablement to lead training and enablement efforts for our Technicians, Project Managers, and Sales Engineers. This role is responsible for designing and delivering impactful training programs, role-specific resources, and skill-building initiatives that elevate field and technical performance.

The Director will work in close partnership with the Corporate Learning & Development team, which owns enterprise learning systems, general training programs, and core product certification content. While Corporate L&D governs the overall training infrastructure, this role will focus on function-specific enablement — developing and delivering tailored learning experiences that directly support real-world execution for these critical technical roles.

Responsibilities

Role-Specific Training Strategy & Delivery

  • Design and deliver role-specific training across Technicians, Project Managers, and Sales Engineers
  • Utilize a variety of delivery methods to meet learner and business needs, including:
    • Hands-on labs and technical simulations
    • Virtual instructor-led sessions
    • Self-paced eLearning
    • Classroom-based workshops
    • Blended or hybrid learning formats
  • Go beyond foundational certifications to build real-world execution skills aligned with field operations and solution delivery

Issue/Solution Repository & AI-Enabled Support

  • Build and maintain structured repositories of known issues and field-based solutions
  • Partner internally with IT, SMEs and others to develop AI-assisted support tools (e.g., GPT/LLM integrations) for rapid access to field troubleshooting guidance

Tools, Playbooks & Role-Based Job Aids

  • Create and maintain enablement artifacts aligned to field and technical workflows:
    • Installation and configuration guides
    • SE playbooks and FAQs
    • Project management checklists and process templates
  • Ensure tools and documentation evolve with product updates and field feedback

Curated External Content

  • Identify and recommend third-party training content to supplement internal resources (e.g., safety, compliance, technical skills)
  • Coordinate with Corporate L&D to align on vendor relationships, deployment, and system integration

Community of Practice Leadership

  • Launch and lead Communities of Practice for Project Managers and Sales Engineers to support peer-to-peer learning
  • Curate and promote contributions such as case studies, tips, best practices, or recorded demos

Technical Enablement Events

  • Plan and execute technical enablement workshops and events:
    • Sales Engineer workshops
    • Technician lab sessions
    • Field team learning tracks during larger company or regional events

Collaborate with Other Enablement Teams

  • Develop and deliver learning content specific to these field and technical roles, ensuring it complements — not duplicates — enterprise-level efforts. Success in this role requires tight alignment, transparency, and collaboration with Corporate L&D, sales enablement and other technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in field enablement, technical training, or operations
  • Experience building and delivering training across a variety of formats (hands-on, virtual, eLearning, classroom)
  • Demonstrated success enabling technical or hybrid roles (e.g., Sales Engineers, Field Technicians, PMs)
  • Strong ability to collaborate in matrixed environments and influence across functions
  • Proficiency with learning technologies, instructional design, and adult learning theory
  • Understanding of access control, security/video systems, and physical technology deployment is a plus

Equal employment opportunity, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
