Job Description and Qualifications
Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for keeping operations running smoothly? Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is looking for a Senior Office Specialist to support our Light Rail Operations team! Experience with unions is not required but preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
Assists Light Rail General Manager or Manager of Rail Operations with developing and implementing performance programs, projects, and systems. Organizes/documents departmental procedures; prepares statistical reports and surveys; composes correspondence, agenda, and minutes. Assists management with day-to-day departmental, interdepartmental, and external communications. Appropriately handles highly sensitive and confidential information. Serves as an initial point of contact including for business unit policy, SOP changes, research, and updates. Supports and assists with related programs and special projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Associates Degree or equivalent in Business or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Four years in an office setting providing administrative or clerical support to include experiencein office coordination between departments and/or divisions.
  • Must have a valid Utah Driver's License, with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3years.
  • Cannot have more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, orthe combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years.
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance software preferred.
Skills:
  • Demonstrated competence with computer systems and operations including intermediate levelproficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to pass intermediate Grammar test.
  • Type forty (40) net words per minute.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing.
  • Able to perform basic data analysis, trending and tracking data.
  • Organized.
Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, UTA managers, employees andvendors.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Work under limited supervision.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Prioritize job assignments; maintain maximum flexibility in daily activities.
  • Handle urgent and emergency requests as needed.
This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Rate: $25.144 per hour
