Senior Manager of SEC Reporting

***This is a remote based role working East Coast hours***

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager of SEC Reporting to join our dynamic team. This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and influence our accounting policies and strategy in alignment with our growth and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with the ability to work cross-functionally to enhance financial reporting processes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

SEC Reporting

  • Direct the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other regulatory filings.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial disclosures in compliance with SEC regulations, GAAP, and other applicable reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and legal advisors to ensure proper review of reports.
  • Maintain and update the companys SEC reporting processes, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Project management of tasks necessary for the completion of regulatory filings.
  • Draft necessary footnotes and develop the MD&A section for the 10-K and 10-Q filings.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain procedures for financial reporting and SEC compliance.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of internal control systems to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Work closely with third party consultants to support remediation of internal control deficiencies.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a small team of SEC reporting professionals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, business development, treasury, legal, internal and external auditors and consultants.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes continuous learning and professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement, best practices and enhancements in our internal control environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in SEC reporting and financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Proven experience in working with external auditors
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with financial systems and reporting software
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and present clear, actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results.
