Executive Director of Development
The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) at the University of Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders, supporting the University's mission in education, research, and healthcare. We invite you to become a pivotal part of our team as the Executive Director of Development for Magee Women's Research Institute and Foundation.
In this role, you will serve as an integral part within the Health Sciences, reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences.
The Executive Director of Development for Magee Women's Research Institute and Foundation will oversee several key areas of fundraising and prospect engagement within the MWRIF, Department of OBGYN, and Magee Hospital. The individual will also supervise nine staff members, develop long-term fundraising strategies, and report to the CEO and Board of MWRIF. The director will lead efforts across the health system to enhance fundraising effectiveness with individuals, with particular emphasis on creating and implementing innovative and comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gifts. Additionally, they will craft strategic development plans for short- and long-term fundraising and faculty engagement. The incumbent will establish and track goals and performance metrics to ensure success and will also manage a portfolio of major gift prospects. The incumbent will travel at least 30% of the time to engage with donors and advance fundraising goals.

Oversees development of a program, plans, and activities to create and execute a comprehensive development plan achieving new and recurring contributions to a school, foundation, program, and/or group. Manages a portfolio of major gift donors and strategically builds fundraising prospects. Assists leadership in facilitating a comprehensive communications plan and with development strategies.
Lead and direct staff in developing solicitation strategies for funding priorities--working with physician partners and Magee Hospital leadership.
Regular travel (domestic) to meet with potential donors/funders.
Be available to work fundraising events, which could include some nights and weekends.
Light - Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
