POSITION SUMMARY:

Petmate is looking for a Territory Sales Manager, who is a quantitative thinker and who enjoys leading projects and initiatives with cross-functional teams.  This position will also require you to think strategically and forecast opportunities and/or outcomes given a group of facts to work with.  This position is a great opportunity to launch a career with one of the leading companies in the $70+ Billion Pet Industry.


The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for working directly with retailers in their assigned territory to grow market share and sales by developing mutually beneficial relationships and solutions. In this role, you will need to balance your time between home office and field sales work. This territory covers areas focused on Europe and UK, requiring travel by car and air. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sales International, this position requires a high degree of initiative and the ability to work effectively and independently in varied retail settings. Excellent customer relationship and communication skills are critical to success in this position.


Individual MUST live in Central Europe or UK for proximity to market.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve sales objectives in assigned geographic region.
  • Work with the Sr. Director of Sales International to execute the territory operating plan.
  • Be the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships with customers.
  • Help customers through email, phone, online presentations, screen-share and in-person meetings.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics.
  • Enhance department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Conduct product training meetings with distributor sales representatives.
  • Attend customer events and trade shows which may span nights and/or weekends.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Sr. Director of Sales International.

 


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proven sales, account management or other relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written), present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity.
  • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to work cross- functionally with various levels of positions and roles across an organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years; Entry level direct customer account selling experience, preferably in CPG (Consumer Product Goods), ideal if working on Pet industry.
  • This role will manage multiple customers with multiple SKU’s
  • Bilingual: read, write and speak English and nice to have German, French or Dutch.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • A valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
