Position: Quality Technician I - EAP
Location: Equipment & Assembly Plant – Pittsburgh, PA

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm ET


Under the direction of the QC Group Leader or Production Manager, the QC Technician I will perform tasks as necessary in the planning, testing and specification adherence of Calgon Carbon Corporation products. The QC Technician I will perform all assigned duties in compliance with all company and safety policies and procedures.
 

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Issue an inspection report on equipment shipped from the E&A Plant where required and received by E&A Plant such as “returned” service equipment
  • Performs pre-shipment inspections of completed projects
  • Verify overall appearance, checks packing lists and documents the shipment using pictures
  • Responsible for coordinating QIR investigations, report findings and establish corrective actions
  • Additional assignments as necessary in the shop or in production office such as BOM development
  • Travels as required to vendor facilities ensuring products meet specifications established by Calgon Carbon Corporation and its customers
  • Also to ensure post-inspection corrections and documentation is complete
  • Maintains knowledge of specifications
  • Provides written reports of results
  • Assists the QC Group Leader for compliance with ASME section 8 Div 1 code program at E&A. 
  • Weld maps, MTR material releases, X-ray identification, etc.
  • Assists the QC Group Leader with “in-house” inspections such as hydro-testing, NDE, weld quality and incoming equipment inspections
  • Monitor and verify quality control requirements by performing audits of all equipment fabricated and refurbished at E&A
     

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • A one-year certificate from college or technical school is preferred
  • A driver’s license is required
  • Previous fabrication or QC/QA experience is preferred
