Position Summary:  

Comtech Systems, Inc. (CSI) is looking for an?Instructor/Content Developer Forensics / Reverse Engineering / Malware Analysis (Sr)?to manage training and development programs supporting one of our government clients in Columbia, MD.  


Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver instruction in static and dynamic malware analysis, reverse engineering of binaries, and advanced digital forensics.
  • Lead labs and exercises on disk, memory, and network forensics using industry-standard tools.
  • Train students in identifying persistence mechanisms, unpacking obfuscated malware, and correlating forensic artifacts to adversary TTPs.
  • Support curriculum development for work roles including 531 (Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst), 541 (Malware Analyst), and 511 (Incident Responder).
  • Incorporate real Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) case studies, malware samples, and threat emulation exercises into lab work.
  • Prepare and/or conduct training programs of a nontechnical nature, teach classes, hold seminars, and lead discussion groups.?
  • Design and deliver training programs for all levels of personnel.?
  • Develop tests and visual aids, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.?
  • Formulate a teaching outline in conformance with the selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of the specified training needs and the effectiveness of various training methods, including individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.?
  • Stay current with training and development research, including learning theory, motivation theory, and emerging materials, methods, and techniques.?
  • Develop in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and enhancing their effectiveness in current assignments. 
  • Evaluate and oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.?
  • Develop e-learning programs. Confer with management, employees, and clients to gain insight into work situations that require training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.?
  • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.?
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.?
  • Facilitate the execution of all training programs.?
  • Monitor training costs to ensure the budget is not exceeded and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.

Qualifications:? 

  • 5–7+ years in digital forensics, malware analysis, or reverse engineering roles.
  • Experience with EnCase, FTK, Volatility, IDA Pro, Ghidra, x64dbg, and custom malware sandboxes.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCFA, GNFA, GREM, CHFI, or OSCP.
  • Familiarity with cyber threat intelligence integration into forensic processes.
  • Experience working under general supervision to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.?
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training of a similar type to the courses they are assigned.

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 2 - 4 years of experience or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
