Paradigm is seeking a full-time, remote Billing Associate to assist in the management of provider requests for additional reimbursement by performing data entry into company software and perform an initial assessment to prepare the request for the Bill Review Team. The role involves communicating with providers regarding requests for additional funds, telephonically and in writing.
What you will do:
- Read, interpret, and enter reconsideration information into Paradigm's systems accurately.
- Enter specific items from claim documents including but not limited to: UB-04, HCFA 1500, Superbill, Manufacturer Invoices, Implant Logs, and Operative Reports.
- Identify any inconsistencies in documentation for proper evaluation.
- Review and interpret reconsideration documentation to determine if further bill review of the claim is required.
- Accurately complete reconsiderations in Paradigm’s systems, when appropriate.
- Communicate with other Paradigm’s employees with regards to reconsiderations.
- Communicate with providers, provider's billers, and attorneys regarding reconsiderations.
- Understand and comply with all IT Security requirements necessary in working with designated PHI and/or ePHI.
Candidates should have:
- Associate degree or equivalent number of years' experience.
- Experience with MS Office and Computer Application Systems required.
- Customer service experience in a call center or production client interfacing setting.
- Experience in medical billing, terminology and surgical implants.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment.
- Sound decision making with focus on attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills.
- Experience with insurance companies or healthcare servicing organizations a plus.
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
