Lead Data Specialist



The Lead Data Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert for faculty employee transactions, providing specialized knowledge and support for higher-level complex faculty actions.


Job Summary

Manages and reviews all faculty action requests. Reviews and interprets University bylaws, policies, and guidelines and provides operational support to employees. Advises on procedures and action approvals. Facilitates high-visibility development initiatives.


Essential Functions
  • Leads the management and review of faculty employee data, approval processing, and reporting for all university employment-related actions, including appointments/reappointments, transfers, new hires, promotions, leaves of absence/sabbaticals, salary changes, position changes, and terminations.
  • Assists with audits and ensures compliance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring actions are processed with accuracy and efficiency. Works closely with the HCM Solutions Data Team Manager to document procedures and enhance system processes related to faculty actions.
  • Researches and resolves complex system processing issues, offering recommendations for improvements to systems and processes that enhance the customer experience.
  • Responds to inquiries, resolves issues, and maintains relationships with clients from across the institution.
  • Analyzes data and systems, prepares reports, and facilitates presentations for educational initiatives. This position requires a blend of operational expertise and a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.

Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
