Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); occasionally pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs; and occasionally traveling for work related purposes in and around the Lexington area.
Shift
The expectation is primarily day shift Monday through Friday, however as an exempt-level position, additional hours will be required as needed to perform job duties.
Job Summary
UK HealthCare Information Technology Services is seeking a customer-focused, solutions-driven professional to join our IT team in delivering high-quality service and end-user training within a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is responsible for efficiently managing and resolving IT incidents, service requests, and projects in alignment with established Service Level Agreements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering a positive user experience through timely support and service recovery. In addition to technical support responsibilities, this position plays a key role in developing and delivering end-user education. The individual will create and maintain training materials, lead classroom and virtual sessions, provide one-on-one follow-ups, and offer at-the-elbow support. Collaboration with Curriculum Designers, project teams, and stakeholders is essential to ensure educational content aligns with enterprise training strategies and supports user adoption of IT systems. We are looking for someone who thrives in a service-oriented environment, proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, and embraces cross-functional teamwork to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of IT service delivery.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate has strong skills in IT service management, troubleshooting, and using ticketing systems like ServiceNow. Experience delivering engaging training—both in-person and virtual—is essential, along with excellent communication and time management. Knowledge of IT service delivery, adult learning principles, and healthcare IT systems, especially EHRs like Epic, is preferred. The role requires the ability to work independently, build positive relationships, think critically, and proactively improve services while providing excellent end-user support.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
Candidates with experience in a healthcare or clinical environment are strongly preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Epic, will be advantageous. A background in instructional design, classroom instruction, and an understanding of adult learning theory is also beneficial.
