Qualifications



RS&H is currently seeking an Aviation Planning Associate I to help contribute to the growth of our Aviation Planning Service Group in our Atlanta, GA office!  

 

RS&H‘s industry-leading aviation planning team is seeking a junior aviation planner to join our vibrant team.  The successful candidate has a strong interest in aviation, strong critical thinking skills, and a desire to grow in this exciting industry. In this role, you will prepare drawings, reports, and presentations to support the Planning Service Group’s wide-ranging aviation planning projects across the country. You will be responsible for assisting aviation planning staff on airport master plans, passenger terminal programming and hangar site plans, ALP development, support on environmental assessments, and other aviation-specific technical assignments.  In this role, you will support our project managers and task leaders to deliver outstanding value for our clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires an Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in planning, aviation, engineering, or related field.
  • No previous related work experience is required; however, practical experience gained from a previous airport or professional planning experience is preferred.
  • Passion for the Aviation Industry.
  • Displays action orientation by taking on new opportunities with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Actively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning opportunities.
  • Strong verbal, writing, and presentation communication skills needed. Ability to interact with employees, other consultants, clients, and others with respect and professionalism.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AutoCAD, and GIS software essential for use in completing assignments, documentation, and exhibits.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment responsive to deadlines.

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • General understanding of an airport/airfield environment.
  • Graphic layout capability (AutoCAD, GIS, and/or Illustrator).
  • General knowledge and application of aviation skills including understanding of FAA guidelines and requirements for airport planning and geometry.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research and collect raw data, organizes and provides a review of data for use in projects and for further analysis.
  • Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software
  • Assists project team members with various support tasks such as developing maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
  • Conduct research on issues, policies, and concepts about planning, aviation, and airports.  Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for airport planning projects.
  • Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.
