Overview:
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking an experienced and strategic communications professional to serve as the Director of Enrollment Communication (CS25-258). This position plays a critical role in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to support the University's undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals.
The Director is responsible for creating and coordinating integrated communication plans across multiple platforms-including print, digital, web, email, text messaging, and social media-designed to engage prospective and continuing students. The role requires close collaboration with units across the Division of Enrollment Management, as well as with campus-wide partners and the Office of Marketing and Communications, to ensure effective and consistent messaging.
What You Will Do:
- Design and implement strategic enrollment communication plans in alignment with University goals for student recruitment, retention, and success.
- Coordinate and oversee communications across various channels including print materials, email campaigns, digital marketing, SMS, web content, and social media.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Enrollment Management and the Office of Marketing and Communications to align branding, messaging, and visual identity.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders and stakeholders across campus to ensure communication strategies are compliant, effective, and inclusive.
- Oversee the development of messaging targeted to diverse student populations, including first-year, transfer, graduate, and continuing students.
- Ensure timely follow-through on all communication initiatives and projects, from concept through execution.
- Manage the assessment of campaign performance using data analytics, KPIs, and other evaluation tools to continuously improve outreach effectiveness.
- Supervise communication staff or student workers, as assigned, and provide leadership in professional development and performance management.
Minimum Acceptable QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with at least three years of related experience in higher education, enrollment management, or collegiate marketing/branding; broad knowledge of admissions, recruitment, and enrollment functions or programs; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret data and trends in recruitment, admissions, and enrollment related to market cultivation and development; ability to work across a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders; ability to function independently with a sense of innovation and motivation balanced with strong organizational and technical skills. The ability to work non-traditional hours to support enrollment events is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree and experience working in higher education or with higher education marketing efforts; experience working with CRM and higher education ERP software programs. Experience crafting marketing or communication strategies/plans is beneficial.
