Overview
ITT Aerospace Controls is an FAA Certified Part 21 Production Approval Holder and an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station. We are dedicated in supporting the aftermarket repair and overhaul of the valves, actuators, pumps, and switches we manufacture. With a large client base of OEMs and airlines, our products help control a broad variety of commercial and military aircraft.
We are looking a Hydraulic Repair/Overhaul & Test Technician with prior experience in functionally testing aircraft accessories. Primary duty will be to operate various test stands designed to functionally test a large variety of hydraulic and electronic actuator-controlled valves. Secondary duties will include inspection, repair, and assembly of actuators, pumps, valves, switches, and electronic components (soldering, adhesive bonding, wrapping, packaging, etc.). Applicants must have experience interpreting part drawings, electrical schematics, and other instructions for continued airworthiness. Extensive training will be provided; therefore, the desire to learn new systems and skills is a must.
Responsibilities
Interprets blueprints, electrical wiring schematics, test procedures and shop order instructions to set up and perform functional tests, both electrical and mechanical, under minimum supervision on a variety of products.
Experience using aircraft maintenance documents, CMM’s, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, service letters, specifications, and drawings.
Verifies conformance to specifications utilizing electrical and mechanical test equipment such as flow meters, pressure differential gauges, dielectric equipment, multi-meters, volt meters, timers, amp meters, power supplies, and torque gauges, as necessary.
Document test results and findings in accordance with specific ITT Test Procedures.
Sets up, changes fittings and gages, checks accuracy of dial gages and makes necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
Must be willing to work overtime including some Saturday mornings.
1 - 3 years recent inspection experience or other related test experience required.
Must be able to pass DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol test (marijuana usage is NOT permitted).
Experience performing various types of maintenance functions on hydraulic accessories (hydraulic testing experience preferred, but not required).
Must have working knowledge of high pressure, plumbing hardware, various electrical and mechanical test equipment such as flow meters, pressure gauges, volt meters, timers, amp meters, power supplies, flow test equipment, and torque gauges.
Proficient in using precision tools, equipment, and inspection aids.
Must be able to test and adapt fixtures to single and multi-port product assemblies; and perform pressure differential and flow rate conversion calculations.
Computer literate. This position requires some basic working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
Experience working in a repair and overhaul environment.
Must have effective communication skills and the ability to document test finding, follow verbal and written instructions, have appropriate math skills to perform conversion calculations, and the ability to interpret blueprints, electrical wiring schematics, test procedures and instructions.
Ability to work with high pressure, solvents, and fluids also necessary.
Must be able to read, write and understand English and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
High School diploma, GED, trade school certification or experience equivalent.Â
