Associate Professor
The University of Pittsburgh Physicians Heart and Vascular Institute and the Department of Surgery,
Division of Vascular Surgery have an immediate opening for a fellowship trained, board certified / board eligible vascular surgeon at the rank of Associate Professor in the appointment stream for an established academic group with a large residency and fellowship training programs, with an advanced endovascular practice and thriving ambulatory outpatient centers.
The successful candidate will practice as a vascular surgeon in a dual capacity within the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and the University of Pittsburgh Department of Surgery, to include clinical, research, and teaching responsibilities. He/she will participate in outreach efforts for the HVI, expanding inpatient and outpatient activities at locations within the HVI service area. As a faculty member, the successful candidate will actively participate in the research and educational mission of the HVI.
Prior clinical experience in an academic institution is strongly desirable. Skills and interest in specialized areas of vascular care and the development of clinical centers of excellence are welcome. The opportunity to develop research interests and participate in educational activities is available.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Demonstrated excellent clinical outcomes
- Experience as a teacher or mentor of medical students and residents
- Demonstrated excellent clinical outcomes
- Qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
Minimum education requirements: M.D.; Required field of study - Medicine.
General rank requirements: An associate professor will have a strong experience with an impactful scholarship, a local, regional, and developing national reputation, effectiveness as a teacher, and service.
