Job Summary
This is a hybrid position; remote work and on-campus attendance expected. The function of this role is to perform utilization management of all third party payers for hospital inpatient admissions and observation stays. The position is integral toward the goal of ensuring payment for hospital services provided for patients.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills. General knowledge of the criteria for accessing appropriate utilization of resources in the hospital is necessary. Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. General knowledge of the criteria utilized by third-party payers for admission and continued stay authorizations is necessary. General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer reimbursement issues is necessary.
