Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Group Finance Director is a critical position within the leadership team, functioning as a trusted business partner to the Group President, leading the business planning process, ensuring financial objectives are met and driving value creation. The position has direct interaction with the financial sponsors and provides timely and trusted decision support to other leaders within the group. The Group Finance Director has dual reporting responsibility, reporting directly to the Catalyst Chief Financial Officer and dotted line to the Kinetics Group President.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Lead Teams

  • Be a strong strategic contributor to the business by partnering with other leadership team members to drive new ideas and promote cross-functional cooperation.
  • Provide functional leadership to the company and group finance departments to ensure consistently high quality of financial processes and information throughout the organization.
  • Develop and manage a motivated, effective finance team to ensure strong functional execution, and delivery of timely and trusted information to the broader organization.
  • Oversee financial aspects of pricing decisions, vendor negotiations, and related efforts.

Reinforce Strong Performance Culture

  • Provide active leadership in the delivery of committed results.
  • Maintain strong EBITDA focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to “see around corners” and overcome challenges.

Lead Business Planning Processes

  • Provide financial leadership in the development of strategic plans, annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to grow the business and enhance profitability.
  • Lead the three-month rolling forecast process and be capable of eliciting input from throughout the organization to provide an accurate financial picture.
  • Provide timely and insightful analysis to enhance decision making and achieve results.

Enhance Productivity

  • Support the optimization of pricing and effective, predictive commercial performance.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and execute margin expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure measures of effective functional leadership that enable the ability to scale and achieve cost leverage.
  • Manage net working capital with a focus on improvement in DSO, DIO and DPO.
  • Instill an asset light philosophy that prioritizes capital investment in growth and productivity drivers, while strictly controlling maintenance capital.
  • Use Catalyst tools and practices to eliminate complexity and improve operational efficiencies - both within the finance department and across the company.

Safeguard Assets

  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls and reinforce a culture of vigilance.
  • Lead the physical inventory process for production facilities within the group.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and government regulations.
  • Support future system enhancements.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year university in accounting, finance or economics
  • Technical proficiency with US GAAP (CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in related roles
  • 4+ years supervisory experience, including prior responsibility for a full business unit
  • Experience in manufacturing environment and strong proficiency working with financial systems
  • Public accounting experience (preferred)
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated success in team building
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities
    • Excellent analytical and modeling skills. Demonstrated ability to understand trends in data, develop insights, and turn them into strategies.

  • Self-starter who is able to function with minimal supervision
