Director, Learning & Development
Salary Grade: G02
Minimum  Midpoint  Maximum
$138,283 - $193,596 - $248,909

Position is open until filled.


SUMMARY: 

Directs corporate-wide learning and development. Facilitates consistent training and coordinating with safety and operational training delivery teams. Directs company-wide performance management process and key cultural initiatives.  Directs and develops enterprise-wide leadership development program.  Develops systematic initiatives to provide consistent processes supporting business unit strategies and key results through learning and development programs.  Directs enterprise-wide employee performance management process and systems.  Directs implementation and integration of enterprise-wide culture initiatives into sustainable learning and development programs.  Offers dynamic and innovative development services or products to meet strategic, tactical, and operational objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees learning and development systematic tools and reporting.
  • Designs and implements dynamic organizational development programs for leaders and employees in coordination with HR.
  • Advocates integration of strategies and innovation.
  • Coordinates AIP goal development with VP of Human Resources supporting all  VPs and provides feedback to the VPs on their proposed goals/metrics and the appropriateness of the corresponding proposed threshold, target, and maximum achievement levels.
  • Coordinates Business Unit annual strategic plan development.
  • Develops plans and strategies that provide guidance for policy standardization.
  • Oversees corporate policy management system and coordinated VP Council agenda and meetings

QUALIFICATIONS                               

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor's degree with nine to eleven years of related experience implementing sustainable enterprise-wide systems for learning and development  programs to include four years of management experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

Master's degree is preferred.

Given the financial nature of this position, this position has been defined as a position requiring a credit check.  Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a credit background check.

Manages cross-functional teams that are strategic partners with the organization to meet their process needs.  Manages departmental priorities, resources and subordinate departments through leadership and applied vision.  Hires, trains, evaluates, and rewards employees.  Designs, organizes, prioritizes, schedules, and leads work assignments.  Fosters good working relationships with various groups

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:   

Advanced oral and written communication skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and program and process documentation

Ability to effectively communicate technical and programmatic issues

Ability to write and deliver effective speeches and presentations on complex topics to various groups           

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Advanced knowledge of word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and project management software  

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY: 

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.  Ability to think critically and analytically.  Ability to pay attention to detail while seeking innovative solutions to complex business/technical issues.

DECISION MAKING:

Uses accurate, current, and crucial information to make decisions.  Bases decisions on measurement and analysis, extracting larger meaning from data and information to improve performance.  Makes decisions regarding the development and implementation of Enterprise Process Management.

SCOPE AND IMPACT:

Regularly works on company-wide training and culture initiatives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time.  Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required.  Manual dexterity is required.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Frequent travel is required

Office environment.
