Retired State of New Mexico Chief Financial Officer - Military veterans preferred

ATA Services, Inc. is seeking to hire a Retired State of New Mexico Chief Financial Officer to work on a temporary assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This position is expected to start July 2025.

• Pay Rate: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• Start Date: July 2025 through September/October 2025
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Location: onsite in Santa Fe, NM
• Requirements: MUST have extensive SHARE experience and previous State of New Mexico

Job Duties:

• Preparation of the State's ACFR pursuant to Section 6-5-4.1 NMSA 1978 and ensure that the ACFR is available for annual audit pursuant to the State Audit Ace, Section 12-6-3. a NMSA.
• Implementation of specialized reporting software and re-design the ACFR preparation process to leverage the capabilities of the software.
• Conduct all central accounting and fiscal reporting for the State as a whole and produce interim statewide financial reports and the State's ACFR pursuant to 6-5-2-1E NMSA
• Perform DFA's internal control evaluation review process and ensure that state agencies have adequate internal controls to prevent accounting errors and violations of state and federal laws and rules related to financial matters.
• Develop, monitor, update, and enforce MAPs pursuant to 6-5-2. B NMSA. Ensure state agencies comply with MAPs and assist agencies in resolving financial questions or issues.
• Development of training materials and training of state agencies’ employees.
• Prepare the annual SWCAP to meet federal reporting requirements.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must have previous Share software experience.
• We’re looking for a candidate who has previous CFO experience or high-level accounting.
• Must live near or around Santa Fe, NM
