Position Title: Production Support Lead                                                      FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly

Function/Department: Manufacturing Operations                                       Location: South Arlington  

Immediate Supervisor: Production Supervisor                                                 

Leads (Positions):  Assembler 1, 2 and 3

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the operation of a section within the Manufacturing function, supporting the Supervisor with the day-to-day management of their manufacturing area, overseeing a group of members, and ensuring a safe efficient operation in achieving business targets. Coordinate their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any shortages, material changes, to ensure production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality and safety standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.

Responsible for material flow from the local zone market to supply the cells for the operation within the section for the manufacturing function.

Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES­ include the following. Other duties may be assigned: 

General and Task Management 

 Supply components from localized zone market to the cells utilizing bin systems 

  • Prepare next finish good pallet with box container in each cell
  • Deliver box containers to cell (utilize pallet jack)
  • Deliver cardboard dividers to cells
  • Ensure the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities 
  • Fill out the First piece approval sheet on every job/mold change
  • Monitor change over and/or line set up efficiency 
  • Prepare line set-ups for following shifts, including first piece approval 
  • Ensure that a product is made according to quality specifications by conducting first piece shift verification
  • Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools  
  • Support efforts to keep cells clean by sweeping, picking up, and removing scrap parts
  • Maintain safe conditions within the local zone market
  • When delivering parts to cell, complete a quick review to ensure no gross and obvious damage has occurred during transportation process

 People Management 

  • Responsible for daily Leadership and support for the team to achieve operational success 
  •  Responsible for training of operators for products and processes within the local team 
  • Assist in conducting incident, accident, and non-conformity investigations 
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems 
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
  • Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables 
  • Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes relevant to team activities
  • Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team 

 Relationship Management 

Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.  * Provide technical expertise to the team

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and communicate in English
  • Must be proficient in all platforms of Office 365
  • Must be able to provide training and give direction in the work cells
  • Must be able to perform quality checks.
  • Must be able to understand station layouts & Bill of Materials.
  • Must be able to professionally communicate to supervisors and other team members.
  • Must be able to keep workstations clean and organized.
  • Must have a positive attitude and have a sense of urgency.

 EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience
