The Process Engineer I is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing process improvements and technologies within the company. This role plays a key function in ensuring efficient and cost-effective production processes that meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Qualify to Level III (can explain functionality) on core Food Production Technologies in AFNA (Refrigeration, Cooking, Forming, Packaging, Utilities) within the first 6 months.
Qualify to Level V (can teach others on proper operation) on Plant Specific Technologies of Focus (to be determined) within the first 12 months.
Qualify to Level III on Plant Specific regulatory requirements (Safety, Process Safety, Quality, Environmental) and ensure compliance in areas of responsibility.
Identify, develop and implement process improvements that eliminate losses: Safety, Quality, Cost, Scrap, Sustainability.
Support Operations and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting process-related issues.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for improvement projects including small capital projects.
Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Lead and/or support small group improvement activities
Train employees on process technologies, systems, and methodologies
Qualifications
Required
BS in Engineering (ME, EE, IE, ChemE)
College Graduate up to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Assist with new packaging substrates and structures to drive leading packaging designs for retail and foodservice products.
Participate in appropriate distribution testing to validate designs and strength of material.
Attend and help manage plant trials, verifying packaging works accordingly through various plant machinery.
Investigate and lead cost savings efforts on packaging materials, design improvements, and efficiencies within manufacturing facilities.
Ideal

Experience working in food production, processing, packaging equipment, utilities.

Salary range $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Plus, annual bonus.
