Position Title: Accounts Payable Spclst
Location: Des Moines, IA, United States
Description:
Accounts payable specialist resolves hold errors and works through any major policy issues with internal and external customers. Other responsibilities include training all accounts payable clerks and having the ability to act as a backup if necessary; providing user assistance to the accounts payable system and procedures; maintaining vendor names and addresses on accounts payable system; providing direction on use tax compliance and researching credit memos and supplier's checks for appropriate code blocks.
Responsibilities:
Resolve hold errors and work through any major policy issues with internal and external customers. (25%)
Respond to accounts payable and purchasing procedural questions related to the accounts payable system. (20%)
Maintain vendor names and addresses in the accounts payable system. (15%)
Research credit memos and supplier's checks for appropriate code blocks. (15%)
Train all accounts payable clerks on policies and procedures as well as fill in whenever necessary. (10%)
Analyze and reconcile account payable reports. (5%)
Reconcile and verify all major account vendor statements. (5%)
Provide direction on use tax compliance. (5%)
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)
Qualifications:
High school diploma/high school equivalency or equivalent work experience.
Three years' work experience in accounts payable.
Excellent computer skills to gain an understanding of the accounts payable system.
Effective interpersonal skills, customer focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Strong problem-solving skills.
